In August 2007, Western New York’s top soccer clubs, the Rochester Junior Rhinos, Syracuse Football Club and Buffalo United Soccer Club joined together to form the Empire United Soccer Academy. 

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution has formed a strategic partnership with New York-based Empire United, a youth development program that also plays in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Beginning with the 2012-13 season, Empire United will become “Revolution Empire, A New England Revolution Soccer Club.”

CHICAGO (May 16, 2012) – U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team head coach Javier Perez has named his roster for the four-team 2012 Lisbon International Tournament from May 23-26 in Portugal. The 20-player roster includes current Revolution-Empire player Stefanos Stamoulacatos and former Empire United player Jordan Allen.

Anthony Rozzano helped the Empire United U-17/18 team move into first place in the Northeast Division following a 2-1 lead against FC Greater Boston on Sunday. Outside of the division, Empire United also topped the New England Revolution U-17/18 team 4-1 on Saturday. Rozzano provided the big highlight during Empire United’s win against FC Greater Boston with a 90th-minute, game-winning goal. The team is now 2-0-0 in the Northeast Division and 12-4-2 overall.

The U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team will convene for a domestic training camp from March 25-April 1 in Carson, California.  Among the players invited to attend the training camp are two players from the Empire USA Bu18 Development Academy team.  Alex Bono (Baldwinsville, NY) and Stefanos Stamaloucatos (Camilus, NY), will join 33 other standouts from across the country in head coach Javier Perez’s first camp at the helm of this team.

Jonas Haylofts Fundingsrud was a passionate young soccer player when his father’s work brought his family to Rochester in 2008.

His soccer aspirations brought him to Empire United (then Jr. Rhinos) where Jonas helped his teammates and Coach Jeff Oliver capture the NYSW BU14 State Championships.

The GU17 Academy team began their Region 1 Premier League season with three tough matches in Pittsburgh, this past weekend.  The first match on Saturday was hard fought 2-1 loss to Beadling (PAW).  Saturday’s second match ended with a similar 2-1 defeat against a very talented squad from FC Frederick (MD).  Sunday’s match was against the host club, North United Fire (PAW), and ended in a 2-2 draw.
